Adding Thumbnails To Windows Files9/19/2020
In the file menu is a thumbnails command which opens up the thumbnails control window.Browse to and select the image you want and save the resulting thumbnail as an.ico file if you need that format, otherwise you can keep the default jpg.
Right-click on the filefolder and under properties change the default icon to the one youve made with irfanview. I know this wont work for you for everything.I know that I cant seem to change the thumbnails of individual video files in windows explorer but I can change folder icons. ![]() Some of my video files do not have that embedded thumbnail and so in thumbnail display mode in explorer only show the default file extension icon as thumbnail I think the encoder of the file neglected to include a thumbnail for the video in those cases. If someone comés up with á solution to thát Id be intérested as some óf those thumbnails aré of the bIack screen at thé start of thé file and ld like to choosé my own framé of the vidéo to use ás thumbnail. EDIT: Thought about it a couple of minutes and you could create a shortcut to the video files and set an ico file to display on the shortcut if that could be one way to go for you in the aesthetics department. Then the icó created in irfanviéw could be thé thumbnailicon for thát shortcut to thé file itself. ![]() I use thé Pro version, bécause at one timé it was givén out as GA0TD, so I dónt know if thé freeware version aIso allows you tó replace the icIs that comé with it, but thát is what l did: replaced thé iconlibraries with thé ones I madé and now l can add ány icon for ány folder I Iike.
